Traveling by car train

If you want to stay mobile on the island of Sylt and travel with your own car, you can choose to take either the DB Sylt Shuttle or the blue AUTOZUG Sylt from Niebüll directly to Sylt. Both trains travel across the land and the Hindenburg Causeway to the island’s capital, Westerland. Many Sylt enthusiasts find the gentle rocking of the car train a meditative start to their holiday, especially when passing through the mudflats with a view of the island. For example, the double-decker Sylt Shuttle runs up to 36 times daily during peak season from Niebüll to Sylt. Seats and tickets can be conveniently reserved and booked online in advance. During peak times, we recommend reserving a spot on both the AUTOZUG Sylt and the DB Sylt Shuttle to avoid waiting times.
