Munkmarsch on Sylt
Maritime charm and soothing tranquility by the Wadden Sea.
Munkmarsch is the maritime jewel of the island of Sylt. Here, unforgettable island history meets idyllic scenery and sophisticated enjoyment meets naturalness. A special highlight is the small harbor, which is a popular spot for Sylt yachts and boats in summer. In the 19th century, this was the harbor through which guests traveled to Sylt to explore the island. These bygone scenes can be imaginatively recalled during a break at the “Fährhaus Sylt”, the “Restaurant Zur Mühle” or the Sylter Segelculb e.V.. The best way to explore the charming coastal town with a view of Keitum and the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site is on foot – along the small beach, past heathland and untouched nature. The village doesn’t have many streets, but it does have beautiful houses with thatched roofs typical of the island, a view of the mudflats and the rising sun. Situated between Wenningstedt, Braderup, Kampen and Keitum, the village of Munkmarsch on Sylt is a special hideaway. Sympathetically unagitated and very authentic.
